IMG_4683.jpg They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder and Wylie Ford definitely sees a lot of beauty.  One of my favourite elements of Wylie is his camera…yes, I said it…the dreaded camera that was stuck in my face making me feel very uncomfortable and self-conscious has actually become a symbol of Wylie and something I now look forward to seeing clutched in his tiny leprechaun hands.

IMG_4690.jpg Over the past year, photography has definitely become a passion for Wylie.  His obvious creativity aside, he has researched and honed his skills (and continues to do so) to improve both the process of taking photos and the post-production to create the final product.  He does not discriminate his subjects – taking pictures of nature, graffiti, men, women, children and random objects, finding the beauty in everything he shoots.

To me, Wylie’s photos are as much a representation of himself as they are of the people, places and objects he shoots.  They showcase his patience (when shooting children); his appreciation for the world around him (in his photos of nature and graffiti), his ability to put people at ease (head shots and “photo shoots”) and his ability to find something special in every person and every situation.

The magic of Wylie is very easily seen when looking through his photos, getting a glimpse into the man behind the lens.

A few months ago Wylie began referring to his photos as “Fordtography” (a rather creative play on his last name, Ford).  Here are some samples of the great Wylie Ford’s “Fordtography”.
