Name: Jarrett Ford
Position: Video Producer

Jarrett knows that living your dream is about taking risks and doing whatever it takes to make it happen.  He says, “your dream isn’t going to fall into your lap, you have to go get it”.

With this mentality, he travelled across Canada, not once, but twice, to pursue his dream of being a steadicam operator.

His first trip led him from Ontario to British Columbia to attend BCIT’s FilmFLEX program.  While there he worked on film sets which provided him with big industry experience; in fact, Jarrett was the camera operator for Goldfish Syndrome, a film which came first in the Vancouver 24 Hour film race and placed third in North America.

Jarrett was then recruited by dreamstoreality.ca to make the trip back to Ontario and join the Dreams Team.

His role with the Dreams Team has pushed him outside his comfort zone, challenging him to learn new skills while continually fine-tuning the skills that first brought him here.

Ultimately, Jarrett’s become more than just a steadicam operator – he’s a one-man production team.  He storyboards ideas, implements them, films and edits until the final product is complete.  He’s involved in creating videos, commercials, and vlogs on every level and these skills and perspective have made him unique in a very competitive industry.

Jarrett is definitely the favourite Ford at dreamstoreality.ca – to keep the female staff happy he always has candy on hand (they ignore the fact that he keeps it in his underwear drawer) and is amazing at setting up insults to be thrown in Wylie’s direction then silently moving to the background and out of the line of fire.

A bit of an adventurer, Jarrett cites snowboarding and surfing as two of his favourite past times.  He also enjoys hanging with his dog Boady and laughing (usually at Wylie).

The best part of living his dream:
The freedom and flexibility to do the things he loves and being able to succeed when others expect you to fail.
